  • 摘要:Abstract The purpose of this study was to analyze the news about teachers in daily newspapers circulated in Turkey. To this end, the newspapers of Zaman, Posta, Hurriyet, Sabah, and Cumhuriyet were selected and scanned for the teacher news between the dates of 01 January 2014 and 31 December 2014. Document analysis technique was used for the scanned news. The data obtained were expressed in frequencies and percentages according to the aim. News about the teachers was grouped on the basis of type, content, and characteristics and the teacher profile presented from this data was set forth. Teachers are mainly covered in the newspapers in sexual abuse and violence contexts; besides, the teacher profile formed on the basis of newspaper reports was found to be a negative one.
