摘要：Resumen: Este trabajo problematiza el origen y desarrollo de la policía rural en Tamaulipas. El primer objetivo es estudiar el proceso de establecimiento y organización del cuerpo policiaco; el segundo, examinar el perfil social de la oficialidad de la policía rural, y el tercero, explicar las actividades que emprendieron los rurales contra el bandidaje. Como hipótesis se ofrece que sí, efectivamente el establecimiento de la policía rural obedeció a las políticas nacionales de seguridad pública. De acuerdo con la Constitución de 1824, los estados del país estuvieron facultados para organizar en sus respectivas entidades cuerpos de rurales. Sin embargo, esta estrategia no se aplicó en Tamaulipas hasta 1826, año en el cual el gobernador Lucas Fernández decretó el establecimiento de la policía rural.
其他摘要：Abstract: This work problematizes the origin and development of the rural police in Tamaulipas. The first objective is to study the process of establishing and organizing the police force; the second, is to examine the social profile of the rural chief of police; the third, is to explain the activities undertaken by the rural police against banditry. The hypothesis states that yes, in effect the establishment of the rural police obeyed the national policies of public security. According to the Constitution of 1824, the states of the country were authorized to organize within its respective entities, rural police forces. However, this strategy was not implemented in Tamaulipas until 1826, year in which the governor, Lucas Fernández, decreed the establishment of the rural police.
