摘要：Com o avanço vertiginoso das tecnologias de comunicação e da informática, o mundo presencia o surgimento de uma nova sociedade, onde a informação se faz onipresente, mudando nossa forma de pensar e agir. A Sociedade da Informação não é só um fenômeno tecnológico, tem repercussão política, econômica, educacional e cultural. Destacamos, dentre os aspectos educacionais, o surgimento da biblioteca digital e seu papel como provedora de acesso à informação digital. Este artigo tem como objetivo fazer um recorte na literatura sobre a biblioteca digital e educação, onde foi percebida a ausência de bibliotecas escolares digitais, em Portugal e também no Brasil, fato que evidencia uma lacuna no sistema educacional dos referidos países.
其他摘要：With the breathtaking advance of communications technology and computing, the world witnesses the emergence of a new society, where information is ubiquitous, changing our way of thinking and acting. The Information Society is not only a technological phenomenon, has passed the political, economic, educational and cultural. Featuring, among the educational aspects, the emergence of the digital library and its role as a provider of access to digital information. This article aims to make an indentation in the literature on digital libraries and education, which were perceived lack of educational digital libraries, Portugal and Brazil, a fact which highlights a gap in the educational system of those countries.
