摘要:The SonReb method is a non-destructive procedure that is usedfor determining the compressive strength of existing concrete elements. Thisprocedure consists in applying the results provided by the rebound hammer (RH)and the ultrasonic pulse velocity (UPV) methods, in specific analytical models.Generally, the results provided by the combined method are more accurate thanthose given by either UPV or RH methods. The analytical models that are usedfor the SonReb are developed empirically and consist in regression mathematicalprinciples. This paper is structured in two parts: the first one presents the generalprinciples and the main advantages of the SonReb method, while the second partfocuses on checking the accuracy of the existing analytical models. For thisreason, 11 empirical mathematical equations frequently used in the estimation ofthe compressive strength values of concrete elements, have been selected. Thevariables of the mathematical equations are only referring to the experimentaldata given by the two non-destructive methods, UPV and RH. By comparing theestimated values of the compressive strength with the ones obtained bydestructive tests, it has been concluded that only 3 of the 11 models provideaccurate and precise results.
