摘要：Este trabalho discute o materialismo no público adolescentes. O objetivo principal foi identificar os antecedentes que influenciam o nível de materialismo dos adolescentes da cidade de João Pessoa. Foram aplicados questionários em escolas públicas e particulares na referida cidade obtendo-se 667 respostas válidas, com adolescentes de 12 até 18 anos incompletos. As escalas utilizadas foram de Golberg et al. (2003) Youth Materialism Scala e Patrick et al. (2002) Youth Quality of Life Instrument . O antecedente do materialismo foi confirmado na hipótese sobre a influência das posses dos pares . E com relação a faixa etária , classe social , relacionamento com familiares e autoestima , as hipóteses foram rejeitadas.
其他摘要：This paper discusses materialism in public adolescents. The main objective was to identify the antecedents that influence materialism level of adolescents in the city of João Pessoa. Questionnaires were applied in public and private schools in that city obtaining 667 valid responses, with adolescents aged 12 to 18 years incomplete. The scales used were Golberg et al. (2003) Youth Materialism Scala and Patrick et al. (2002) Youth Quality of Life Instrument . The materialism of the previous confirmed the hypothesis of the influence of possessions peers . And with respect to age, social class , family relationships and self-esteem , the hypothesis were rejected. Keywords: materialism, adolescents, antecedents.
