摘要：Biography was introduced naturally in journalism through portrait genres. In the nineteenth century, the biography was a didactic content because it was being imported from history or literature with minor changes. In the twentieth century, it changed to the needs and peculiarities of the emerging and ever-changing journalistic genres; looking for the current actuality of the social protagonists or gradually introducing private life and character as biographical content. This article examines its presence, form and content in graphic magazines Estampa and Crónica since the beginning of the Second Spanish Republic and until the start of the Civil War. The study of such texts can show its evolution from the didactic biographies of the XIX century press to the private life’s progressive presence in the journalistic articles
