  • 摘要:This research was aimed to study the effect of Connect Extend Challenge learning through concept maps and different levels of metacognitive awareness to the students’ scientific reasoning. This study was done in a quasi-experimental design is using a nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group design. The results showed that CEC combined with concept map learning increased scientific reasoning ability by 59.826% compared to the conventional learning, metacognitive awareness level affect the reasoning ability. The highest reasoning ability was achieved by the high metacognitive awareness level group.

Key Words : connect extend challenge, scientific reasoning, metacognitive awareness Abstrak : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran Connect Extend Chal-lenge melalui peta konsep dan tingkat kesadaran metakognitif yang berbeda terhadap kemampuan penalaran saintifik siswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan menggunakan rancangan quasi experimental yang dilakukan dengan menggunakan rancangan pretest-postest Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran CEC melalui peta konsep meningkatkan kemampu-an penalaran saintifik sebesar 59,826% dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional, kesadaran metakognitif berpengaruh terhadap penalaran saintifik siswa. Rata-rata penalaran saintifik siswa yang paling tinggi adalah pada siswa yang memiliki kesadaran metakognitif tinggi.
