摘要：Rough set theory is a new mathematical approach to imperfect knowledge. It was proposed byPawlak in 1981. The benefit of rough set theory in data analysis is that it can easily find the reducts usingapproximations without need any preliminary or additional information about data. The proposedapproach provides efficient algorithms for deducting unseen patterns in data. Due to this reason, weaimed to categorize the school student’s academic performance that took place in Portuguese school tofind out valuable facts from the analyzed data. Since it is expected to get decision rules ROSE2 softwarewas used to analyze student’s data in order to reduce the attributes without loss of information and toextract decision rules. The results of this study provide the related members and decision makers toreduce and prevent the poor performances of students by predicting them.
