摘要:Over the past few years, utilization of renewable energy resources (RERs) hasbecome an active and interesting area of research in energy management ofpower systems. In this paper, a new three-stage generation scheduling methodis proposed for thermal units and renewable energy resources. In the method,all generation units are bidding in a competitive market along with theexternal energy tie-line at the point of common coupling. The schedulingproblem is solved while considering uncertainties in both generation anddemand. At the first stage, Generation Companies (GenCos) use forecastedinformation (such as market price and climate conditions) to determine theiroptimal bidding strategy for maximum revenue. In the next stages,independent system operator (ISO) manages available contracts to minimizethe operating cost of the power system. The proposed method is applied to a10-unit network using GAMS software. Simulation results show that theeffectiveness of this method is to the benefit of generation companies and ISOin the presence of traditional tie-line.
