摘要：Agrarian Transformation and Colonialism: An Historical-Comparative Study of Korea and the Phillipines This study compares the development of South Korea, a relatively successful case in East Asia, with the underdevelopment of the Philippines. We examine the internal class dynamics and external world economic forces that shaped capitalist development in Korea and the Philippines. The comparative analysis reveals that the structural transformation in agriculture, and rural class relations, were critical to the divergent paths of development of these two Asian countries.
