  • 摘要:“Think globally – act locally” is the motto of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), which aims to deal with current challenges facing humanity interdisciplinarily and transdisciplinarily in formal, non-formal and informal learning contexts while developing concrete solutions. The migration and flight topic has seldom been treated in this context – if at all. The Regional Centre of Expertise Graz-Styria at the University of Graz is attempting to close this gap and work out need-based solutions for inclusive coexistence of refugees and the host society with those active at a local level. Flight and asylum are not conceived of as problems but instead as challenges that can be overcome. This article introduces two different examples of transdisciplinary learning. “Everyday places” were visited: housing for refugees, associations, counselling centres, educational institutions and a small town in Styria in which several hundred refugees were accommodated by decree. The learners were education students specializing in geography, refugees and volunteers. The article analyzes the methods and challenges of these examples along with core elements of transdisciplinary approaches. One key finding of the research: the integration of refugees into the preparation of offerings is a key requirement. (Ed.)
