摘要:Among the numismatic finds from the important Torre de Doña Blanca site (Puerto de Santa María, Cádiz), a small hoard of 56 Punic coins calls for special comment. The appear to date the end of the settlement to sometime during the Second Punic War. The coins, wich are of a copper allory with a high lead content, constitute an «emergency» issue. It is probable that they were struck at Carthage during a period of monetary crisis and were subsequently paid to Carthaginian forces engaged in the conflicto with Rome.
