摘要：The church of San Román de Tabillas, actually a rural parish. was a monastic foundation in origin. lts fabric, changed through twelve centuries of history, has a especial relevanee not only because it contains traces of two periods of prcrromanic architecture, but also it is possible to date them with a fair aceuracy. This is the reason why San Román de Tabillas constitutes an important picce to the historiographic debate on chronology of prerromanic architecture.
