摘要:Background and Objective: Contamination of surfaces in the hospital environment may contribute to the incidence of nosocomial infections through cross contamination by health care professionals. The objective of this study was to describe, through a review of lteratura, the main microorganisms on surfaces and/or equipments of two areas considered critical in hospitals. Contents: We conducted a systematic review of the literature indexed in PubMed, Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO) and Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences (LILACS) using descriptors related to the topic. Were found 73 jobs, but after applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, were selected 14 articles for review. Regarding found microorganisms, Staphylococcus spp., Acinetobacter baumannii, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Klebsiella pneumoniae were reported more frequently in ICU environments, prevalent study site between the works of this review. In the operating room we highlight the presence of coagulase negative Staphylococcus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Streptococcus spp. Conclusion: The bacteria found on surfaces evaluated in this review were mostly pathogens associated with nosocomial infections, and were reported more frequently in areas frequently manipulated by the medical staff, corroborating the incidence of cross-contamination.
