摘要：Fundamento:se hace referencia de inicio a un trabajo investigativo anterior no publicado, donde se señala la importancia para el diagnóstico en la apendicitis aguda del leucograma con leucocito-sis y desviación izquierda a partir de los neutrófilos.Objetivo:definir conceptos en relación con el comportamiento de la leucocitosis con desvia-ción izquierda en apendicitis aguda.Desarrollo: se revisó la literatura disponible a cerca del término leucocitosis con desviación izquierda en apendicitis aguda. Se expresaron las cifras normales de leucocitos, el conteo diferencial y el concepto de desviación izquierda según Arneth a partir de los granulocitos neutrófilos y sus formas jóvenes aumentados en la apendicitis aguda.Conclusiones: se reafirma el concepto y el valor diagnóstico y predictivo en apendicitis agu-da, entre otros exámenes complementarios de la leucocitosis y desviación izquierda a predominio de leucocitos neutrófilos o segmentados; términos que pueden utilizarse indistintamente como también de sus formas jóvenes en sangre periférica. Los términos granulocitos y polimorfonuclear no son sinónimos de neutrófilos y si se utilizan debe agregarse al final la palabra neutrófilos.
其他摘要：Background: at first, reference is made to non-published previous research, in which leucocytes countwith leukocytosis ́ importanceand left deviationin diagnosing acute appendicitis from neutrophils is highlighted. It is a common and known situation in surgery by the working group that includes the stu-dent and the specialist.Objective: to define concepts in connection with the behavior of leukocytosis with left devia-tion in acute appendicitis.Development:taking into account the available literature, the definition of the word was reviewed in a simple way. From neutrophilous granulocytes and its increased young forms in acute appendicitis; nor-mal figures of leukocytes, differential count, and left deviation concept according to Arneth were shown.Conclusions: some national and international reports that mention the name from the diag-nostic viewpoint were reviewed. From the reference sense, some are emphatic; unlike the other reports. Granulocytes are neutrophils, eosinophils, and basophils. Lymphocytes and monocytes are not granulo-cytes. It is correct to say either segmented or neutrophils. However, if the term granulocytes or poly-morphonuclear is used, then the word neutrophils should be added. Clearing up the meaning of the terms referred to is significant.
