摘要：Este artigo tem como objetivo analisar a atividade das instituições e indivíduos ligados ao poder judi ciário e à polícia antes e durante a Guerra do Contestado, con flito ocorrido no planalto catarinense, entre 1912 e 1916, que envolveu grande conjunto de agricultores pobres , posseiros, peões e tropeiros em suas lutas contra fazendeiros, o governo e a Cia. Estrada de Ferro Sã o Paulo – Rio Grande. Num primeiro momento, serão analisadas as fontes judiciárias como meio de acess o a importantes informações sobre a vida, a polític a e as relações sociais e econômicas no planalto catarinen se. Em segundo lugar, analisaremos a atuação de advogados, rábulas, delegados, promotores e juízes ao longo do conflito, tanto na mediação de assuntos políticos, como na atuação em processos criminais d e lideranças rebeldes. Importante documentação cart orial e judiciária revela um conjunto de relações polític as e laços de parentesco e compadrio, que foram dec isivos para se entender o desfecho de vários processos, co m especial atenção ao episódio de ocupação rebelde da Vila de Curitibanos.
其他摘要：The following article aims to analyze the activitie s of the institutions and individuals linked to the Judiciary and to the police before and during the Contestado War to have occurred in the plateau region of the Brazi lian state of Santa Catarina. Running from 1912 to 1916, the war involved large numbers of low-income farme rs, squatters, farmhands, and troopers in their struggl es against landowners, the government, and the São Paulo- Rio Grande Railroad Company. Judicial sources are a nalyzed as a means of accessing important informati on on life, politics, and the social and economic rela tions on the plateau, as are the actions of lawyers , rábulas [paralegals], delegates, prosecutors, and judges th roughout the conflict, both in terms of their inter mediation in political matters, as well as their role in the criminal proceedings of rebellious leaders. Signifi cant documents from the Judiciary and Registry Offices reveal poli tical ties, family relationships, and cronyism crit ical to an understanding of the outcome of various proceedings , with particular attention awarded to the rebellio us occupation of Vila de Curitibanos.
