摘要：Nous nous intéressons ici à la reconfiguration narrative et esthétique qui se joue entre Breaking Bad, série originelle, et Better Call Saul, série dérivée ou spin-off qui oscille entre sequel et prequel. Nous analysons comment cette dernière est travaillée par une tension entre fidélité au dessein matriciel de la série mère et une volonté d’émancipation du modèle afin de conquérir son identité propre. En passant d’une narration qui privilégie l’action et le suspense, à une lenteur propice à l’approfondissement psychologique, Better Call Saul propose un récit qui, amorçant faussement une continuité pour immédiatement partir à rebours, va prendre son temps, notamment en étirant les séquences. Reconfigurant également les enjeux de la mise en scène, plus immobile et distante, la série de Vince Gilligan et Peter Gould propose une « expérience esthétique » nouvelle, qui, tout en puisant dans la force visuelle de Breaking Bad, s’en détache pour conquérir son identité sérielle singulière.
其他摘要：We are studying the narrative and aesthetic reconfiguration that occurs between Breaking Bad, the original series, and Better Call Saul, its spin-off series which oscillates between sequel and prequel. We analyze how the spin-off shows a tension between fidelity to the matrix design of the original series and a desire to emancipate from the model in order to conquer its own identity. Better Call Saul, which is falsely initiating a continuity to immediately go backwards, proposes a narrative that takes its time. Setting aside action and suspense, the spin-off offers a slower narrative conducing to psychological deepening of characters. The Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould series also rearrange its “mise en scène”, which is more static and distant. Better Call Saul offers a new “aesthetic experience” which, drawing from the visual strength of Breaking Bad, stands out to conquer its singular serial identity.
