摘要:Channel estimation based on a training sequence limits spectral efficiency. In this paper a new Orthogonal Space-Time Block Coder (OSTBC) is proposed for estimating an unknown Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) channel without the need of a training sequence. Also, the orthogonal propriety of this code is taken into account to reduce the complexity of the maximum likelihood detector (MLD). Since the Steady State Kalman filter (SS-KF) has a lower complexity and nearly the same performance, compared to the standard Kalman Filter (KF), it is used to track the MIMO channel variations. The performance of the proposed coder is evaluated by means of Monte Carlo simulations and compared to that of optimal detection and some other coders proposed in the literature.
