摘要：It is a well-known fact that despite the rapid growth of technology over the past years, not all people have equal access to information and knowledge. Senior citizens are one major example of people being excluded from the abundance of services that technology has to offer nowadays, which results in feelings of inactiveness, loneliness and isolation. This paper presents a European Project in the framework of the Lifelong Learning Programme entitled "Grandparents and Grandchildren Keep In Touch" (GRANKIT), which attempted to bridge the gap between senior citizens, their acquisition of basic ICTs skills and ultimately their access to information, knowledge and communication tools. The main aim of the GRANKIT project was to promote active citizenship regardless of age and to explore the relationship of the first and third generation by bringing together senior citizens (grandparents) with their grandchildren through the provision of basic ICT learning courses.
