摘要:The purpose of the study was to examine opin-ions of artists in music about state supports for students talented in music. Participants had state sup-ports in music when they were young. A phenomenological study was undertaken to interview the participants. They were inter-viewed face to face. Data was coded and con-tent-analyzed and categorized by themes. The findings showed that all of the participants ex-pressed that policies related to the education of gifted children in the field of arts in Turkey did not work anymore, losing functionality and ef-fects and special services to be provided for ar-tistically gifted students depended upon indi-viduals who were in charge, showing that the policies were no longer useful. In addition, the participants stated that policies and practices have changed constantly as a result of changes in perceptions of educational politics and de-cision makers. Therefore, it is reasonable to claim that the greatest challenge in the educa-tion of students highly talented in the arts is the lack of a consistent and sustainable national policy.
