摘要:This paper aims to interpret the work On the Fetish-Character in Music and the Regression of Listening by T. W. Adorno (1903-1969), published in 1938, describing two distinct parts that structure the work in the form of main themes, such as [1] ‚the fetish-character in music‛, that refers to the production of the cultural products; and [2] ‚the regression of listening‛, that refers to the consumption of these products. In addition, we will describe secondary themes regularity pointed out by Adorno in his work, as his comments on [i] the authentic Art and [ii] the music, which division is established in serious music and light music. In fact, the aim of this article is related to interpretive issue of how Adorno made use of the concept of Marxian fetishism, originally used in the political economy scope, in the aesthetic scope. Indeed, this evidences how the original concept of fetishism of commodity proposed by Karl Marx was elaborated by Adorno and became the fetishism of the culture commodity, characterizing its "objective" aspects, in the production, and its "subjective" aspects, in the consumption of commodities.
