摘要：The sand handball has some peculiarities that differentiates it from the modality of court. Due to these peculiarities, the objective wasto analyze the gestemas and praxemas in an official sand handball game, explaining the communications and counter-communicationsof this game. It is a research of a descriptive nature, with qualitative approach of the data, using the technique of indirect observation.From the Motor Praxiology, an observation protocol was used to collect data in the women’s final of the 16th edition of the Kika Cupof Sand Handball, held at Cabo Branco beach in the city of João Pessoa-PB. We analyzed handball as a space of interaction in whichthe participants are involved in a communicative work of codification and decoding between comrades and opponents. The resultsobtained help to understand the different interaction processes in the handball game, based on the language of the players’ actions,providing parameters for possible training methodologies that aim at an optimization of the team performance.
