摘要:The purpose of this research is to study not only the introduction of X-rays in Argentina and the following medical uses, but also to enquire into the impact radiation experiments had on the visual culture of the time. Further, it aims to analyze the link with photography and its epistemological concerns within the print culture and ‘imagined science’ as envisioned at the turn of the century. Considering the production of scientific knowledge an instance of communicative action and media flowing throughout several geographical areas and not as mere local phenomena, it was deemed necessary to work with the print media which covered this new technique; not only scientific journals such as Anales de Círculo Médico Argentino y Semana Medica, but also newspapers and illustrated publications as La Nación, La Agricultura and Caras y Caretas.
