摘要：Aim: The aim of this study was to assess the impact of employment and unemployment of the women with children in the context of the marital satisfaction, self-esteem, marital life, and psychological well-being. Method: The sample in the present study consisted of 51 employed and 41 unemployed married women belonging to middle and upper- socio-economic status groups with educational qualifications of at least high school graduate and above. Rosenberg Self-esteem Scale, Psychological Well-Being Scale, Marital Life scale, Marriage Satisfaction Scale and sociodemographic questionnaire are used for gathering data. Results: Obtained results revealed a significant positive relationship between marital satisfaction and psychological well-being, sub-dimension of Âself-acceptance. Employed women have higher marriage satisfaction compared to unemployed women. Marriage life and self-esteem differentiate according to the total income of the family. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that employed women have higher marriage satisfaction compared to unemployed women. For the future studies it would be beneficial to choose education and income levels at a lower level and repeat with wider sampling.
