摘要:The objective of this article is to diagnose the perception of public officials as for inserting environmental sustainability criteria in the procurements of a Federal university. The studies regarding sustainable public procurements were the basis of this research, highlighting the importance of the social function of bidding processes. The research is qualitative and descriptive, carried out by means of semi-structured interviews and document analysis. The head officer of the institution was seen to assimilate the concept of sustainability and recognizes that the institution should fit into this paradigm, in addition to being an issue involving all society. In the report of the remaining subjects, environmental sustainability does not show up deeply, being reduced to a mere legal and economic query, not internalized nor lived in the administrative practices.
