  • 摘要:Abstract This article aims to discuss data concerning the implementation of the School of Basic Education in Special Education Mode in the Paraná State (Brazil). Initially, it aims to identify the elements that motivated the change in the denomination of School of Special Education to School of Basic Education, in the Special Education Mode, and later it aims to present data regarding the implementation of such school in the Paraná State´s context. This is a documental and bibliographic investigation. We used the Content Analysis technique from Bardin (2011) as a resource to support the interpretation of the collected data. Thus, we verified that there was success in the implementation of this school in 100% of the municipalities of the State agreed with State Secretary of Education. From a total of 398 schools, 342 have been maintained by the Association of Parents and Friends of the Exceptional, evidencing the expressive participation of this association in the provision of educational services to students with intellectual disabilities, multiple disabilities and pervasive developmental disorders. However, we identified fragilities in the pedagogical proposal, since it was not possible to find, in the year of its implementation, in 2011, a guiding document for this proposal, and the pedagogical issues seem to have been taken with less relevance. Therefore, accompanying the developments regarding the pedagogical proposal and the schooling process of the students from the School of Basic Education in the Special Education Mode calls for to future research, since the school certification is still the great objective to be achieved.
