摘要:The arrival of rock and roll to Recife (Brazil) is framed in a context that highlights cinema that opened the doors to the new musical genre and worked as an effective means of propagation in the city clubs. It also served as soundtrack to dense newspaper discussions about it and its relation to the behavior of a youth that was considered ‘deviated’. This article intends to characterize the sociocultural aspects of this process using semi-structured interviews and documentary research on three local major circulation newspapers from 1955-59 in the Public Archive of Pernambuco.
