摘要：Binarization of an image is a method of separatingpixel values from dual collections, black as foreground and whiteas background. Thresholding found to be a well-knowntechnique used for binarization of document images. It is thestarting step of all the document image analysis and refers to theconversion of gray scale image to binary image. There aredifferent thresholding techniques, but there is no way to selectsingle or best method which is used for all documents. The mainpurpose of this paper is to present the study on various existingthresholding techniques and compared their results.
