  • 摘要:Advanced Head-light controlling system (AHCS)aims at automatically adjusting the headlamps beam of thevehicle in a horizontal direction to illuminate the curved roadahead as much as possible without causing any discomfort toother drivers. Here, our proposed system is based on steeringwheel for the headlamp’s horizontal adjustment. The two lightsare used in the system. One light is for the long distance beamand other light for the near distance beam. When the speed ofvehicle is below threshold speed the lower light (low beamlight) will be in operation and when the speed is abovethreshold speed, the upper light (high beam light) will be inoperation. We have considered the threshold value as 50Kmph. The LPC 2138 is used for the processing. The outputfrom the steering wheel is given to the micro-controller andaccording to the movement of wheel either in right side or leftside, the micro-controller drives the head-light in therespective direction. The head-light is mounted on the DCmotor. Accuracy, reliability and availability of the componentswere few considerations during the conceptualization stage.
