摘要:This paper presents the design, analysis and synthesis of a high frequency nature-inspired broadband micro-strip patch antenna. It is based on the sunflower structure with particular type of the spirals which are frequently found in nature. The reason behind using sunflower structure is to explore whether we could replicate the properties of wideband performance, uniform and stable distribution of electromagnetic energy obtained in natural structure, successfully translated to antenna technology. The proposed antenna geometry has simple structure so it satisfies the requirements of satellite communication in form of the reduced lobe level and stable radiation pattern. The design is using Computer Simulation Technology Microwave Studio and the geometry of proposed antenna offers impedance bandwidth of more than 5.44 GHz (12 GHz to 17.44 GHz) in the Ku Band.
