摘要:While aging has been on the public agenda for some years now,a quick glance towards current social practices and health policies on aglobal level shows a somewhat precarious management of this issue. Thispaper highlights current theories regarding aging and global trends inaging-related-policies, placing them in the framework of security studies.Unlike traditional types of crisis, aging represents a particular type, thatof an incumbent crisis – as it is has been happening organically and canbe managed – with proper policy – so that it does not become a threat tothe development any given state. While demography and financialestimations can offer us plenty of insightful information, true populationaging effects are ultimately social and political – how they occur and aresuccessfully managed depends on health policies, national values, livingstandards and education.
