  • 摘要:Engineering structures are unsafe when constructed on weak or expansive soils. Improvement ofloadbearing capacity of the soil may be carried out by numerous ground improvement techniques. This study has beenperformed to evaluate the engineering properties of bentonitewhen it is mixed with the different percentage viz. 0.05%,0.075%, 0.25%, 0.50%, 0.75% and 1.00% by weight of admixture that is rubber tyre chips. Admixture strips were cutinto different sizes and were mixed with bentonite.Standard Proctor Compaction tests and California Bearing Ratiotests wereperformed to evaluate the mechanical response of reinforced soil in terms of compaction characteristics andpenetration resistance.
