摘要:The decision of the current United States administration of repealing existing regulatory measures on production and consumption of fossil fuels in that country, as well as withdrawing from the Paris Accord on climate change are a few of the examples of the attachment, sometimes shrouded, that the factual powers maintain regarding the energy matrix centered on coal. Combustion engines and automobiles were the icons of a consumerist society that established speed and wastefulness as the foundation of the way of life. The Fordism model was the wellbeing ideal, and its return is something for which nostalgic persons openly vie. The search for winding arguments to oversee the facts such as that fossil fuels are non-renewable materials, that its indiscriminate burning is already running up a tab through threatening effects of global warming, or that the waste of energy to obtain more energy is ever higher, which places us on the edge of a true “energy abysm”, whose void we barely glimpse in the of best cases.
