摘要：The objective of this work is to study the relationship between journals and the members of their editorial committees who publish articles in them. The results show that editorial committee members have their articles published much faster than authors who do not belong to the committees. Furthermore, there is a lack of collaboration between members who serve on committees of different journals, when compared with that existing between committee members of the same journal. In 6 of the 10 journals analyzed the percentage of articles signed by a committee member is higher than 25%, and in three of these journals the publishing time of the articles is significantly lower than for authors who do not belong to a committee. It is possible to conclude that being part of an editorial committee is a path used by authors who wish to publish their articles in a timelier manner.
