摘要：This paper presents a reflection from geography about the “natural” disasters and risks from an integral view. Taking as basis the concepts of space and place as social constructions, in order to understand the complexity by including in the analysis natural, historical, political, cultural and economical elements. Also a methodology, which allows the interrelationships between all this factors, is proposed emphasizing on the importance and necessity of an interdisciplinary approach and on the use of qualitative and quantitative techniques. It finishes with a description about risk management place-based.
