摘要：One of the avenues to make literary works accepted in the public domain and audiences is through autobiography writing. The study focuses on the autobiography style of Nisah Haron in her short stories compilation, Rindu Seorang Rafik (Al-Ameen Serve, 2011). Two elements of autobiography style that have been highlighted by Nisah Haron are her focus on Adat Perpatih (customary law with matrilineal system) and laws. Both are obviously derived from her personal life and education background. Nisah Haron is originally from Negeri Sembilan which generally attached to Adat Perpatih . Nisah Haron was also a lawyer and had accomplished her undergraduate degree in law school from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. The findings show that Nisah Haron as a creative writer exploited her imagination, creativity and innovation in producing short stories. She constructs the knowledge and practice in Adat Perpatih and law through her creative work. Rindu Seorang Rafik, on the other hand is a manifestation of self-expression to clarify issues on adat, law, heritage, kinship and sisterhood in Islam. The self-expression could be traced by metaphorical narrative style, characters or through the subjects. It is derive from the creative writing process that was attached directly or indirectly the author’s profile. Most of the female characters represent the matrilineal aspects in Adat Perpatih. It is becoming Nisah Haron’s idiosyncrasy in most of her creative pieces. She allows her female protagonists to decide and to achieve betterment for others.
