摘要：Growing internationalization constitutes an opportunity to catch upby investigating in technology. Recently a significant amount of papersanalysed phenomenon of technological catch up at domesticforeigncompany‘s level. However, the need for empirical studies atcountry’s level is relevant as well. The main aim of the paper is toevaluate the relation among investment in technology, technologicalprogress and macro-economic indicators and in this way to estimateopportunities of investing in technology to catch up advanced countriesat macro level. We applied theoretical framework of neoclassicalgrowth theory to explore relation between investment in technology,technological progress and macro-economic indicators indifferent countries. The approach used in the paper is quantitative.Research results show that regardless income level, countries canincrease economic growth rates and catch up higher income countriesby making appropriate decisions of investment, changing thestructure of investment in technologies by funding sources andspheres. Research contributes to the scientific literature of technologicalprogress and country‘s economic growth by providing empiricalevidence of 44 countries.
