摘要:The present work examines the behaviour of flexure strength of the beam with opening. Total 3 types ofbeams with dimension (150 X 200 X 1700)mm were casted and tested under two point loading. One beam is solid andother two beams were having transverse rectangular opening. one of the beams with transverse opening is internallystrengthened. The beam with opening which is provided during construction at L/3 distance from the support withoutany internally strengthening (B2 beam) decrease the ultimate load by 8.89% significantly compare to solid beam (B1beam). The beam with opening which is internally strengthened (B3 beam), increases the ultimate load by 11.2%compare to solid beam and the internally strengthened beam with opening (B3 beam) increase the ultimate load by21.95 % compared to un-strengthen beam with opening (B2).The theoretical values obtained for all the beams are lessthan the experimental values like 34.9%, 34.45%, & 18.45% for B1, B2, & B3 beams respectively.
