  • 摘要:Fibre reinforced concrete can offer a convenient, practical and economical method for overcomingmicro-cracks and similar type of deficiencies. Since concrete is weak in tension hence some measures must be adoptedto overcome this deficiency. Human hair is strong in tension; hence it can be used as a fibre reinforcement material.Human Hair Fibre (HHF) is an alternate non-degradable matter is available in abundance and at a very cheap cost. Italso creates environmental problem for its decompositions.Present studies has been undertaken to study the effect of human hair on plain cement concrete on the basis ofits compressive, split tensile, flexural strength and cracking control to economize concrete and to reduce environmentalproblems. Experiments were conducted on concrete cubes, beams, cylinders with the addition of various percentages ofhuman hair fibre i.e. 0%, 0.1%, 0.2%, 0.3%, 0.4%, 0.5%, 0.6%, 0.7%, 0.8%, 0.9% and 1.0% by weight of concrete. Foreach combination of proportions of concrete one beam , one cylinder and six cubes are tested for their mechanicalproperties. By testing of cubes, beams and cylinders we found that there is an increment in the various properties andstrength of concrete by the addition of human hair as fibre reinforcement. Also, hair fibre reinforced concrete can be analternative method for the hair waste management.
