摘要:This research aimed to develop a computing solution for the Accreditation Committees of HigherEducational Institutions in the Philippines that will help them in categorizing document for exhibit. The title “SemanticAnalysis using Ontology for Document Analysis” focuses on the development of the domain ontology which includesdocument extraction and classifying document to its area and even sub-areas of the exhibits, developing an algorithmand evaluating its efficiency and evaluating the prototype by the respondents using ISO 9126. The researcher usedevolutionary prototyping wherein the developers learned from the user a more accurate end products that allowedflexible design and development. The prototype was developed using different tools for extraction, especially OpticalCharacter Recognition (OCR), ASP.NET as front-end and SQL Server for the database, as well as, structuring its ownontology. Unstructured files are basically the input for the system. A dashboard is also developed to monitor thenumber of documents in all areas of accreditation. The researcher conducted an acceptability test with the respondentswhich are the members of the Accreditation Committee who clearly emphasized that the developed system has all thefeatures, functionality and modules that satisfied the overall requirements of the stake holder.The compute overallweighted mean is 4.76, which means that the respondents strongly agreed on the different criteria used for evaluatingthe software such as functionality, reliability, usability, maintainability and portability.
