摘要：Software Asset Management (SAM) is a practice which handles the management of software assetsefficiently within an organization. It is a critical enabler that encompasses almost all core processes in an organization.Software licenses currently account for about 20% of typical IT costs, and the already pervasive use of softwarecontinues to rise. It is illegal to use unlicensed software and it could end up with material financial penalties if yourorganization falls short in terms of licensing requirements. Organizations pay heavily on software that is not yieldingresult or beneficial to them. However, they lack the ability to manage the whereabouts of software once it is assignedto a resource. This paper presents approaches on managing software assets. The result is a tool that eliminatessoftware redundancy, duplicate and enhances efficient control and management of software assets.
