摘要：Software piracy is a critical problem that has been affecting software companies for years. The worldhas observed quick growth and great success in the field of Information Technology (IT) for the past few years. Thisgave rise in the increase and rapid advancement of the software companies. Technological advances have made it easyfor anyone to duplicate and distribute copyrighted software anywhere, anytime and to anyone. This has not onlyaffected the software companies but also has caused much panic for the content owners. The goal of this paper is toidentify how information technology contributes in software piracy, its effects to companies and software owners andthe way forward.
