摘要：The rapidly expanding field of Big Data has started to play a pivotal role in the evolution of healthcarepractices and research. It has provided tools to accumulate, manage, analyze, and assimilate large volumes of disparate,structured, and unstructured data produced by current healthcare system. Research identifies the recent surge inhealthcare data as the key for improving health outcomes and reducing the ever increasing healthcare costs. The rise ofbig data, however, also raises challenges in terms of privacy, security, data ownership, data stewardship andgovernance. This paper discusses big data as a concept and various challenges it brings along with itself. This paperalso provides an insights overview of the Big Data Analytics implementations and decision making in healthcare intoday’s era.
