摘要：As the computer networks are growing widely, threats are also rapidly growing. One of major threat tocurrent computer networks is Denial of service (DoS) attacks. To resolve these attacks we must have a betterunderstanding on DoS attacks This paper is a survey on the problem of denial-of-service (DoS) attacks and proposedways to detect it. This elaboration isto takes a look at the vulnerability of denial-of-service attack. We found thatdeploying an efficient intrusion detection system can significantly improve its security and it can detect denial ofservice attack before it affects the victim. But due to the special characteristics theexisting traditional intrusiondetection system cannot work properly in that environment. The focus of this paper is to investigate detection systemwhich can detect DoS attack with high attack detection and low false alarm rate to achieve high performance.
