摘要:Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs) are comprised of highly mobile nodes that communicate witheach other without relying on a pre-existing network infrastructure. Therefore they are ideally suited for use in rescueand emergency operations. Due to their applications in situations such as emergencies, crisis management, military andhealthcare, message security is of paramount importance in mobile ad-hoc networks. However, because of the absenceof a fixed infrastructure with designated centralized access points, implementation of hard-cryptographic security is achallenging prospect. In an adverse environment, both route discovery and data transmission are vulnerable to a varietyof attacks. A misbehaving node can abide well in the route discovery phase and hence be placed on utilized routes.Later, it could tamper with the in-transit data in an arbitrary manner and degrade the network performance. Thisbehavior can be nullified by securing the data transmission phase. In this paper, we propose a novel method to enhancesecurity in both phases using trust-based multi-path routing. The trust based multi-path routing ensures securediscovery of multiple path between source and destination. Self-encrypted parts of a message are transmitted throughthese paths. Therefore it is difficult for malicious nodes to gain access to the minimum information required to breakthrough the encryption strategy. Results show that our method is much more secure than other existing trust basedmultipath routing protocols.
