摘要:Wireless Sensor Network assists in maintaining regular surveillance over various kinds of ambientconditions like temperature,humidity etc and then by transmitting them into electric signal. As wireless nodes are runby battery primary objectives lies on increasing the network lifetime so that the battery need not to be replenished soon.Clustering sensor nodes is an effective technique for achieving this goal.In this work,we propose an energy efficientclustering algorithm for sensor networks based on the LEACH protocol . LEACH (Low Energy Adaptive ClusteringHierarchy) is one of popular cluster-based routing protocol, which has been widely used in wireless sensor networks.The proposed protocol A-LEACH-(Advanced LEACH algorithm) have an additionalconstrainti.e distance from thebase station while selecting the cluster head in the set up phase. This consideration reduces the consumption of thenetwork resource as compare to LEACH algorithm in each round in simulated environment. The work is based onmaximizing network lifespan that is defined as the number of alive nodes that lie within the transmission range of agiven node is more as compare to LEACH algorithm.
