摘要：Este artigo tem por objetivo apresentar o histórico e a experiência de organização social em prol da construção de uma rede de agroindústrias familiares rurais (AFRs), no município de Constantina/RS. Essa discussão faz parte da dissertação de mestrado, defendida junto ao Programa de Pós Graduação em Extensão Rural e que tinha por problemática a avaliação de impacto social no universo das AFRs. Apresenta-se aqui um processo e forma de organização que foi sendo construída ao longo de 25 anos e que forneceu as bases sociopolíticas para a criação de uma cooperativa central aliada a progressiva consolidação e expansão das agroindústrias, em sua capacidade de articular produção-processamento-comercialização em circutos curtos e longos, além de galgar apoio das políticas públicas nas esferas municipal, estadual e federal.
