摘要：Na década de 1980 o estado de Roraima passava por profundas transformações ocasionadas, sobretudo, pelo garimpo que estimulou a chegada de pessoas das mais variadas partes do país, na sua maioria nordestinos. A busca pelo ouro ampliou os limites da cidade de Boa Vista - a capital do estado - e estimulou diversos conflitos entre garimpeiros e indígenas, considerados pelos desbravadores como um entrave para exploração da pedra preciosa. Assim sendo, o estado de Roraima, em especial sua capital, recebe uma gama de influências tanto dos migrantes quanto indígenas e caribenhos, pois além do intenso processo migratório, encontra-se situada na fronteira com a Venezuela e a República Cooperativista da Guiana. Esta confluência de línguas e culturas chamou a atenção de um grupo de artistas que começaram a discutir a identidade roraimense através da arte, criando um movimento cultural chamado “Roraimeira”. Neste sentido iremos discutir sobre o surgimento, as mudanças e a contribuição do movimento cultural “Roraimeira” para a construção e divulgação da identidade roraimense a partir da análise de algumas poesias musicadas que falam sobre a cidade de Boa Vista.
