摘要：Até ao final do século XIX, existiam no concelho ribatejano de Coruche dois hospitais, ambos administrados pelas Misericórdias locais: a de Coruche e da Erra. O hospital de Coruche era a principal unidade hospitalar do concelho e a única depois de 1883, quando a debilitada irmandade da Erra foi anexada pela congénere coruchense e o seu hospital extinto. No sentido de fazer conhecer esta evolução, procura‑se avaliar a assistência hospitalar praticada em Coruche durante o século XIX e a primeira década do século XX. Analisa‑se o peso da vertente hospitalar no orçamento geral da Misericórdia de Coruche, bem como o seu quadro de funcionários e competências. Além disso, é traçado o perfil da clientela hospitalar que procurava nesta instituição o socorro para as suas moléstias. Quanto ao hospital da Erra, acompanha‑se a profunda fragilidade da Misericórdia que o administrava, repercutindo‑se este facto na assistência que oferecia e no volume de doentes que recebeu
其他摘要：Until the end of the 19th century the Portuguese villages of Coruche and Erra had two hospitals, which were managed by the local Misericórdias. The hospital of Coruche was the main healthcare facility and the only one that remained after 1883, when the failing brotherhood of Erra was assimilated into the Misericórdia of Coruche, and its hospital became extinct.. In this paper we describe the services provided by the hospitals during the 19th century and first decade of the 20th century. We analyzed the share of expenditure of the hospital in the budget of the brotherhood of Coruche, its medical staff, including their technical capabilities. Furthermore, the users of the hospitals are quantified and described. The fragility of the Hospital of Erra is also proved, as well as of the Misericórida of the same village, reflected in the weak assistance provided and on the low number of patients that it could receive
