其他摘要:The analysis of the two-phase turbulent flow during operations in a metallurgical ladle vessel is made. There are three coexisting phases: two liquid phases (molten metal and slag), and a gas phase due to the argon injected through a nozzle located at the bottom of the ladle. In a first approximation we only studied two of the three phases mentioned before, ignoring the presence of the slag. The flow regime is highly turbulent. The analysis uses a code for the multiphase flow problem with turbulence. To calibrate models and code, we compare our results with experiments in water models. In order to do this, a physical scaled model of the ladle vessel was constructed, where air is injected to simulate the argon injection. The similarity relations to reproduce the metallurgical process are verified. Velocity measurements are being made to compare the numerical values obtained in the calculations with our own experimental results.
